On Saturday, March 28th, we will gather for a Mother / Daughter Bible Journaling Workshop.  We’ve designed this time for kindergarteners and beyond, and it will benefit all ability levels.  We will share ideas for deepening our engagement with scripture and creatively responding to the Word of God.  We hope you will leave energized to read and pray God’s word, equipped to personalize your Bible, a family Bible, or a Bible to gift someone else, and excited about the possibilities for using Bible journaling to connect.

Will you be there?

We’ve heard a few responses, and we don’t want these thoughts to keep you from registering.

I DON’T HAVE A DAUGHTER - MY MOM/DAUGHTER CAN’T COME

Although we want to encourage moms and daughters to enjoy this workshop together, any woman is welcome!  You will not be the only single participant.  I’m a boy mom, and we’ve already heard from several others who will attend solo.

BIBLE JOURNALING ISN’T “MY THING”

Sometimes we have an idea of what Bible journaling is that doesn’t fully encompass all that it can be.  Anyone who wants to read and understand their Bible can take something from the workshop that will enhance their engagement with God’s Word.

I’VE TRIED A BIBLE JOURNALING WORKSHOP AND DIDN’T LIKE IT

If you have loved the previous workshops, you will see some similar elements.  However, we have some new ideas to share that may resonate with those who haven’t yet been inspired to engage in Bible journaling beyond the workshop.  Also, if you don’t want to follow instructions during this time, please still join us and do your own thing. We look forward to seeing what you create in your Bible.

I’M NOT CREATIVE

You are an image bearer, so you are inherently creative because God is creative.  However, I know the frustration of having an idea and not knowing how to artistically put it on a page, so come hear some ideas for making Bible journaling accessible for anyone.

I’M A PERFECTIONIST

It can be hard to engage in Bible journaling when you fear it won’t be perfect.  However, the purpose of our workshop is connection.  A greater connection with the Lord is most important, but we will also share some ideas for how you might use Bible journaling to connect with others.   Embrace the mess and mistakes. Everything you write, draw, paint, or add to your Bible or journal creates a personal diary of faith that is perfectly unique to you.

I DON’T LIKE MY HANDWRITING

While I love the look of pretty lettering, I struggle to recreate it.  I struggle to write in books or journals because I don’t like my handwriting.  However, Bible journaling doesn’t require cute lettering or calligraphy.  I have a few tricks when I want it to look cute, but I’m also trying to embrace my imperfect handwriting as my personal act of workshop in the margins of my Bible.

I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR BIBLE JOURNALING

While it can be fun to pull out all the supplies and spend some extended time creating in your Bible or journal, we also plan to show some easy options that won’t require an extensive amount of time and can be incorporated whenever you read your Bible.

I DON’T WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON SUPPLIES

We are purposefully trying to keep a low price for this workshop, and you will leave with supplies.  You will have the opportunity to work in whatever Bible you bring, but there will also be alternative options presented if you don’t want to create inside your Bible.  If cost is the only thing keeping you from coming, please contact Christy Williams for registration assistance. If you are in the market for a new Bible, here are a few options for single-column journaling Bibles in different translations: ESV, NIV, CSB, KJV, NLT, PSALMS ONLY NLT, PSALMS ONLY ESVNIV for GIRLS, NLT for KIDS.  Feel free to bring your own supplies to show others your favorite washi tape, colored pencils, pens, markers, or watercolors.

I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO BIBLE JOURNAL

We need you to share your expertise with our community.  We learn best from each other.  The Lord might want to use you during this time to share with and encourage those who are just getting started with Bible journaling.

I CAN’T BECAUSE…

The enemy doesn’t want a group of women to gather around God’s Word, so he will use anything to keep us away.  Prayerfully consider this opportunity, and even after you register, pray that nothing keeps you from joining us.

We are so excited about what the Lord has in store for this workshop, and we can’t wait to see what only you can create.  Click here to register.
