This Way to Your Purpose

I love one grocery store. What I really mean is I love to only go to one grocery store at a time. You will never find me zipping around from store to store to find better produce, a brand or a better deal. Tom Thumb, Kroger, Aldi, Costco, Sam’s - how many are you willing to go too in a 2-hour frame to find the best deal? I am always amazed at the coupon clippers who can compare the weekly grocery ads to their grocery list or the people that can figure out who has the cheapes

What Do You Want From Me?

Have you heard the saying, “Skeletons in the closet?” Wikipedia defines it as, undisclosed fact about someone which, if revealed, would damage perceptions of the person; It evokes the idea of someone having had a human corpse concealed in their home so long that all its flesh had decomposed to the bone. At what point in your life did you start accumulating skeletons in your closet? I had a closet of skeletons when I was younger. I learned real fast that I did not like living

Faith & Obedience > Mac & Cheese

What are some things that go together? They cannot be separated out. Cowboys and Losing Mac and Cheese Peas and Carrots Sonny and Cher Bert and Ernie Cookies and Milk Chips and Salsa All great items, let’s add… Faith and Obedience So this is my second attempt at writing this blog post. Why? Because the first time I was trying to tell a story and could not come up with one. Then I feel like the Lord was like “Share about the Wednesday Word for Women and the Podcast!” This was

Lord, why did you bring me all this way to rub dirt in my face?

Isn't this is a normal response to bad situations in our lives, right? This is a great line in the movie spoken by Harriett Tubman in the movie Harriett on Prime. I highly recommend watching. It is a good family movie. There is this fun feature on my phone that brings up pictures taken years ago and then streams them all together. I can even pick the kind of music that I want to go along with it. It takes me back to a time when I often say, “Remember this,” or “Remember when.

Counterfeit Christianity

When one of my boys was little, he would ask “Wanna to talk?” We would say yes, of course. He would walk to his little tiny chair and then we would sit in the other little tiny chair and he would talk. There were times we would talk on bridges, back of boats, front yard or back yard. I remember one time, he asked me to go talk, we were outside and he looked up to the sky and discovered that the clouds looked like animals. We picked out a dog and a pig. He then paused and ask

Did 2020 Turn Your Heart to a Pillar of Salt?

What type of person are you in regards to Christmas decor cleanup ? As soon as the last present is open, do you start cleaning? When the last guest leaves, do you pull out the containers to store the Christmas items? This year, did you wait until the weekend was over and enjoy one last weekend with the lights and the tree? Maybe some of you are waiting until after the New Year? Or are you a person who asks, “What? People don’t keep their Christmas cheer up all year long? Ch

A New View of God

Right now, we are waking up to the day after an election day. Some people are happy and relieved. Others are sad, bummed, or blue because they are not sure what the future holds. These emotions might even stay with us for a day, or weeks, and that is okay. How do we process all this with a biblical worldview? How do we respond as Bible-believing, Christian women? I heard a friend say this weekend, “I am going to let you be God.” He said this in an effort to let go of his ow

Eight Statements To Change the Heart

Our desire for life-improvement is real. We are constantly looking for the next book to read - the next author, doctor or expert to help solve our problems. Learning is life-giving, because learning often brings about a metamorphosis. People who say they don't like change make me smile, because the reality is those people don't like undesirable change. We all want some type of change in our lives. Whether we want a new job, a new school, more money, a different marriage, kids

Is your thought life out of control?

Do you ever let your thoughts get away from you? Do your thoughts get out of control? Do you feel like you need to increase your meds on some days? Like when a loved one doesn't call you back in a timely manner? We have it all played out in our head, right? Of course it is always the worst scenario. Like the worst! What about when you have some ailment? We have already googled it and are now updating our farewell notes to our family and friends. Do you see how our thoughts ca

Do we have too many purses?

I have some purses in the top of my closet that I don’t often use. I want to use those purses, but I just don’t think about it. If we have a fun place to go out to dinner; I might use it for a special occasion or a fun event that calls for sassy accessories but for my day to day life I don’t ever think about it or even think to use it. When I do switch out to use one of those purses, my posture changes for sure, it is the function of any good clothing or accessory, right? Is
